Extensive recruitment campaign in the food industry


Our customer is a global FMCG company with a production facility as well as sales and marketing functions in Slovakia. Iventa assisted the company in establishing a shared service centre specialized in financial functions covering the European region. The aim was to find up to 60 senior financial professionals with knowledge of several languages within six months. We also supported our customer with a recruitment campaign to hire another 150 junior financial staff members. The centre was taking over responsibilities from other European offices which led to specific demands regarding the personality of the candidates.

Extensive recruitment campaign in the food industry


Our customer is a global FMCG company with a production facility as well as sales and marketing functions in Slovakia. Iventa assisted the company in establishing a shared service centre specialized in financial functions covering the European region. The aim was to find up to 60 senior financial professionals with knowledge of several languages within six months. We also supported our customer with a recruitment campaign to hire another 150 junior financial staff members. The centre was taking over responsibilities from other European offices which led to specific demands regarding the personality of the candidates.

Method

We started with a recruitment campaign in print and online media followed by HR marketing at universities as well as a co-operation with education/training companies specialized in accounting. At the same time campaigning was continued using other tools, e.g. posters.

Our aim was to find the necessary senior financial professionals through a comprehensive variety of search methods, such as search supported by job ads, internal and external databases as well as networking and direct search. We combined all of these methods to find suitable candidates. The biggest challenge was the short time frame in which to find the required number of qualified candidates as some of the job specifics were, for example, knowledge of exotic languages (e.g. Scandinavian languages).

Result

We were able to place up to 60 senior financial professionals with different backgrounds. Candidates came from audit companies, financial institutions, sales organisations and production companies where they held positions such as Financial Manager, Chief Accountant, Senior Accountant, Assistant Auditor or Controller. Many of these candidates were able to spend some months abroad, what enabled them to take over the accounting/financial role from other countries and implement it in Slovakia.
The recruitment campaign, to hire another 150 junior staff members, was also successfully implemented.

Our client is one of the leading international companies in the field of metal processing and machining, operating a factory with 200 employees in Znojmo. The client contacted us after experiencing unsuccessful cooperation with a couple of regional personnel companies which were unable to find a suitable candidate for the client. Understandably the client was quite sceptical at the beginning. Originally there was only one open position for us to work on. However, the customer was very satisfied with the quality of the potential candidates and the speed of the whole process and therefore decided to open the search for other positions.

Methods

The initial search in this case was difficult not only because of the location, but because of a very specific candidate profile. The position required high technical know-how in the given field, excellent sales and presentation skills, long-term experience in a similar field, and a high level of competence of a foreign language.

In order to find the right candidates a mixture of Executive Search, Search and Selection and Online Advertising was applied. 

  • Thorough and detailed identification of target companies
  • Identification of suitable candidates working in these companies
  • Online Job Advertising in the Czech Republic
  • Searching potential suitable candidates in our own internal database 


The direct addressing was done discreetly and suitable candidateswere shortlisted. After consulting with the client, interviews were performed in our office. The overall candidates’ reaction to the presented open position was very positive. The client decided on one of the candidates after the final presentation. The candidate was able to leave their current employer earlier than expected through mutual agreement. 

Results

We were able to gain the client’s confidence for long term cooperation within a short period of time thanks to dedicated and consistent care, the right identification of their needs, and continuous monitoring of a changing corporate structure that optimized the ongoing process.
We succeeded in placing four candidates with this company within one year. The positions included two specialists at the middle management level, and two managers at the higher management level.
