The customer is a brand-name and generic pharmaceutical company with several successful products and a small and stable presence on the market. The company was founded through a merger of two international pharmaceutical companies and its aim was to replace a country manager. A top secret search project was therefore executed in order to find a either a competent country manager or business manager from a brand-name pharmaceutical company who would strengthen the position of our customer, increase sales and further develop their team.

Method

At the beginning, the first challenge was to prepare a target list of companies with suitable potential candidates who could be motivated to change their employer and join a company which is not considered to be a global player. This required that we conducted very detailed research in order to be able to select the most suitable candidates from the market.  

For this project we used the Executive Search method and also met some recommended candidates from various sources within the market. We conducted structured interviews which lasted around 1.5 hours and prepared detailed reports of the candidate submit to the client. This way we were able to present seven strong candidates who were industry-professionals, having worked only for international pharmaceutical companies. The candidates were also highly experienced in sales as well as in management.

Results

At the end the company made its decision between two final candidates. They chose a candidate who had already co-operated with them in the past, was very loyal to the company as well as respected by employees and had a clear vision of the business strategy and company positioning. This way we have proven that we could support our customer in finding the right individual for the position.
